Homeschool families
seeking special rates for a colonial living history
field trip close to home, look no further. Twice a year, the
Colonial Williamsburg Foundation offers homeschool families
a chance to revolutionize American history in its spring
week-long event scheduled for February 20 through March 5,
2008. Registration begins January 15, 2008. According to
event coordinators, information should be posted online as
well.
Colonial Williamsburg Home Educators Week
Cost/Person (ages 6 and up): $5/1 day, $8/2 days, and $11/3
or more days. Before you go, be sure to engage your kids
online with period-related games and activities, or prepare
for the event and
download curriculum materials (lesson plans and research
material) for enhanced learning opportunities.
For a neaby extended
excursion, check out the
Jamestown Settlement
and Yorktown Victory Center. Often, reduced rates are
offered to encourage homeschool families to visit while in
the area.
