Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS)
From FCPS Special Education Department:
"Parents who choose to homeschool may want to consider certain benefits available to children in the public school system but not to home school students. FCPS will provide Child Find services which include location, identification and evaluation of students who are home schooled or attending private schools within Frederick County.
If the child remains on home schooling, no services by FCPS are provided after the evaluation. When a home schooled student who has been identified with a disability enrolls into FCPS, an IEP team gives consideration to individual needs in order to determine a Free Appropriate Education (FAPE) as appropriate. Students who are parentally placed in private school are eligible for some services.
For further information, please refer to Regulation 400-66 for additional information.
All policies of FCPS may be found on the FCPS website under the link Policies and Regulations."
