(NEW) Free Creative Writing Workshop for Young Writers: Do you love to write? Do you dream about publishing your own work one day? Are you interested in what a professional writer’s life is like? Then you don’t want to miss this! Multi-published author Mary DeMuth will be joining us all the way from Texas to talk about life as a writer and the process of getting a book published. This workshop is geared toward kids age 11-18, but can be attended by anyone interested in creative writing.

Date: Thursday, February 2nd
Time: 6:30pm – 9:00pm

Ms. DeMuth has written 12 traditionally published books (non-fiction and fiction) in the last 6 years. She enjoys mentoring new writers and travels around the country speaking about writing. For more info contact

The Clare and Robert Moore Scholarship Fund
awards a yearly $1,000 scholarship to an incoming first-year student or to a current Notre Dame of Maryland University student who is planning to major in or currently majoring in English and/or Drama. Leap Day 2012
is an indoor field day to be held February 29. 2012 at the Severna Park Community Center gym (623 Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard, Severna Park, MD 21146) from 9 am to 2 pm. Come by and get active with your kids! Admission is just $5 per family (waived if you volunteer to help). We aim to have a supervised mini-trampoline, ride, and bounce house just for the littlest ones, along with a slew of other self-guided activities for older students: jump rope with rhymes, hopscotch, hula hoops, and cross-curricular activities. Families not only take home a goodie bag, they may also receive door prizes such as a new Wii Fit accessory and other new or donated items.
