From the desk of...Krista Thomas
publisher/editor of Homeschool Frederick! [May 2008 issue]

Got an Idea? Share It!
We'd love to hear about it! share it with HSF! readers through email for possible inclusion in an upcoming issue. Thanks!

Three cheers to you - local homeschoolers who are wrapping up another successful year of homeschooling in Frederick County. As we think about our accomplishments, I would like to turn your attention to homeschool success by other homeschool moms and families. For one, the Sierra Leone book drive is wrapping up and deserves a round of applause (read right-hand side/panel). And, we've successfully made it through another year at HSF!, celebrating our 2nd birthday bash at the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo. A huge hug to those who came out to enjoy the animals and to hear a wonderful talk on habitats. I'd appreciate feedback on next year's event as this is now an annual event.

This month, we're brimming over with features to keep you clued in on local happenings:
HSF! Top Picks for Summer Camps
Keys Summer Reading Program
Ticket Giveaway to Homeschool Theater Productions
Summer Interning Opportunities with Local Newspaper
Insight Into Local Homeschoolers' "Captured Space"

As with every issue, I hope you find something useful, something enjoyable -- something worthwile to pass along to other homeschoolers here in Frederick County. I appeciate your thoughts and suggestions, so please consider dropping me a line at Homeschool Frederick!

Sincerely,
Krista
