Where in the World Do You
Homeschool?
by Krista Thomas |
When I
think back to the days of my public education, many find
it hard to believe I graduated from a public high school
with 32 others...in a Morton Building! Yes, we conducted
experiments in biology and had basic computers for
computation (computer math) and cut/paste for the school
newsletter. Yes, times have changed...so it
comes as no surprise to me that today's best studies
(albeit computer math,
experiments in biology, or practically any learning) can
happen practically anywhere for homeschool students!

Imagine
how fun this feature can be when we all show-off our
homeschool learning pads -- kitchen, living room,
library! Here are two of my favorites that came through
HSF! email for this feature. Perhaps you'll get in the
groove too - and
email HSF! your very own photograph of your
"captured" space!
For 16 years I homeschooled my six children at
our kitchen table, storing their books and
papers
in other rooms where we could find the space. Three
years ago we moved to Maryland, and I finally had a
separate dining room which I could use as a
schoolroom! We love having everything right there
and being able to leave our "mess" out on the table.

The
Campbell family homeschools in the basement
playroom, where a perfectly shaped corner of the
room provides a cozy nook for bookshelves, a table
and chairs, and filing cabinets. Mom would love more
wall space for maps and posters, and less access to
all the toys! -- A. Campbell
