Dear HSF!,

"Are there any free online academic courses available with the ability to download individual lessons?"

Thanks,
Mrs. D

Dear Mrs. D,

If you're searching for online courses -- free, no less -- check out HippoCampus. Most of the high-quality course content apply to high school students, but could be feasible for some upper middle school students. Courses include Algebra, Geometry, US History, Calculus, Environmental Sciences, and others.

Through NROC, or The National Repository of Online Courses, these multimedia lessons are free through a project called HippoCampus. The goal is to provide high-quality, multimedia content on general education subjects to high school and college students free of charge through Open Education Resources (OER), a worldwide effort to improve access to quality education for everyone. According to the HippoCampus website, "content has been developed by some of the finest colleges and universities in the world and contributed to the National Repository of Online Courses (NROC), another MITE project."

Sincerely,
HSF! Staff
