Thank you for your email concerning year-end curriculum. First, take a deep breath and relax. If you do decide to withdraw your child, you can choose to spend the rest of the year taking your child on educational field trips, using library resources for most (if not all) subjects, and attending functions from support groups in our area.
I highly recommend reading FCPS' top ten homeschooling questions posted on HSF! Should you choose to withdraw your child from school and opt to homeschool, FCPS' Student Services page offers download notification forms and contact information for Student Services staff members. You also have the option of choosing an umbrella group for monitoring purposes instead, so be sure you check out our Beginning Homeschooling site page to view both options (FCPS or umbrella groups).
Finally, plan to attend the MACHE Curriculum Fair on April 18-19 at the Frederick Fairgrounds. It is fantastic opportunity to review and/or purchase curriculum for this season or next!
This is an exciting time for your family. HSF! will hopefully serve your family well to connect with other homeschoolers and put you in touch with the right resources to educate your loved one at home.
