Congratulations in your quest for homeschool-related information. We hope you'll find Homeschool Frederick! a welcome, warm, and inviting place to find answers to your homeschooling questions in the Frederick region. Where else will you find one place with all the resources and information about homeschooling in Frederick, Maryland?
Designed for Frederick County homeschoolers, the purpose of Homeschool Frederick! is to forge connections in our homeschool community. Instead of reinventing the wheel, this site brings together resources available through umbrella groups, Student Services personnel with the Frederick County Public Schools, hybrid organizations, businesses, and others who appreciate the virtues of homeschooling. The site is privately owned and is not affiliated with Frederick County Public Schools or any particular umbrella group.
Although the calling came in 2004, home-based educator and small business owner Krista Thomas created this all-encompassing homeschool portal in early 2006. The venture took off - thanks, in part, to friends and homeschool colleagues who encouraged and supported the idea.
In September 2009, Krista turned over the reigns to a new editor, Beth Redmond. Beth is a mother of four, former homeschooler, web copywriter, editor, and newly minted site designer--- and thrilled at the prospect of continuing this mission. In 2010, Beth created Homeschool Maryland! LLC which now operates the website as well as the sister sites, Homeschool Montgomery! and Homeschool Howard County!
Reader input is invaluable for newcomers and veterans of home-based education. Please support this online venture with your comments, reader submitted articles, and by supporting our advertisers. Let's make this site a long-lasting staple for homeschoolers in our area!
