Although the calling came in 2004, home-based educator and small business owner Krista Thomas created this homeschool portal in early 2006. Her passion for research, fair journalistic reporting, web design, and marketing experience all came in handy to launch the internet debut of Homeschool Frederick! for homeschoolers of Greater Frederick. The venture took off - thanks, in part, to friends and homeschool colleagues who encouraged and supported the idea.

Instead of reinventing the wheel, this site brings together resources available through umbrella groups, Student Services personnel with the Frederick County Public Schools, hybrid organizations, businesses, and others who appreciate the virtues of homeschooling.
